Welcome Brier community to the 2021-2022 school year. We are excited to return to in-person learning after being away from campus for 17 months. While last year was an unprecedented year in recent educational history, our students and staff dedicated themselves to the difficult task of online learning, We not only survived, but thrived in many ways. Students built resiliency, became proficient with technology and exercised determination and compassion. We knew returning to the classroom this year would bring different challenges. With physical and emotional safety as our number one concern, our amazing Brier team has a plan in place to address the needs of our students.  Be assured that the COVID-19 safety protocols are being strictly adhered to daily.  Social emotional lessons are being facilitated with consistency to address not only growth mindset, but to alleviate the stress and trauma students may have faced or are facing during this pandemic.

Our dedicated teachers, support staff and administration will continue on our journey of ensuring high levels of learning for ALL students in a safe and positive environment. Our commitment to excellence, embracing high expectations, holding students and ourselves accountable and embracing Brier PRIDE and restorative practices is what propels our school toward continuous improvement and success. We are committed to ensuring all students reach their academic and affective potential. It is because of the aforementioned that Brier was the proud recipient of the California Gold Ribbon award of Excellence and Gold Ribbon Award of Excellence for Title 1 schools.

At Brier, we recognize the importance of establishing a partnership between home and school. Each family plays an integral role in their child’s education. Research indicates that when families engage in their child’s education, there is a greater likelihood of reaching academic success. When students know their parents are taking an interest in learning activities and participating in school activities, they understand the importance of school. Thus, we encourage all parents/ guardians to become active participants at Brier. Further, we invite you to attend Coffee with the Principal, join the School Site Council or English Language Advisory committee and let us know how we can support your child’s learning. We are looking forward to another year of celebrating our students’ growth and successes.

Let’s show our Bronco PRIDE and make Brier the absolute BEST school it can be!
