Dear Parents,

Welcome to the wonderful world of Kindergarten! We are very excited to be your child's second teacher (you were their first!), and am looking forward to a wonderful year. The beginning of the year is quite an adjustment for all of us, but with your help we will be successful. You will be hearing from us frequently, but if you have questions, please stop in (after school), email us (jpurnell@fremont.k12.ca.us or scollins@fremont.k12.ca.us) or call us (657-5020). This year Mrs. Purnell will be teaching the morning class along with Mrs. Collins who will be here on Fridays.

A few important notes:

Home-School Connection:

We will use your child's Brier School folder as our Communication Folder. Your child will bring their folder home every Thursday, Inside you will find all of his/her wonderful work and important school notices. We ask that you empty the folder, review the enclosed papers with your child and return it to school the next day.

Drop Off/Pick Up:

During the first week of school, parents are welcome to accompany students into the Kindergarten Yard before school. After the first three school days, students are to be dropped off at the Kindergarten Gate. The parents wait outside, and can watch the student walk to their class. The teachers will be there to make sure all students get to the right class. Student pick-up will require parents coming inside the Kindergarten Yard as students are released to a parent (or other adult) from the classroom.

** If you need to speak with your child's teacher before school, please feel free to come into the Kindergarten yard in the morning.
